Josephine Baker said this about the French. For those who do not know her, Freda Josephine McDonald, known as Josephine Baker, was an American-born French singer, dancer, actress, showgirl and resistance fighter, who was born on June 3, 1906 in St. Louis, Missouri, and died on April 12, 1975 in Paris.
