Talking a few words about the weather is a good opportunity to start a conversation.
Le temps qu’il fait vs le temps qui passe- The weather vs time
French people were not clever enough to invent two different words for “weather” or “time” 😂 We only have the word “temps“. So we can talk either about “le temps qu’il fait” = “la météo” or “le temps qui passe“.
In this lesson we are talking about “le temps qu’il fait“. You will see that we use mainly 2 expressions to mention the weather: “il fait” and “il y a“.
